Autumn 2024 Kadmium Delft

Barok! Still life in autumn tones

During the autumn exhibition of the Delft presentation space Kadmium, I will show 'Barok', a still life in autumn tones from my Project Preserved. 'Barok' is inspired by the work of two female Dutch painters from the seventeenth century: Maria van Oosterwijck and Rachel Ruysch. Both occupied a special position as women in a profession that was otherwise mainly practiced by men. Maria van Oosterwijck, originally from Nootdorp, set up her first studio on Voorstraat in Delft. Later she left for Amsterdam, where she worked as an assistant to the still life painter Willem van Aelst. Rachel Ruysch, born in The Hague, also trained in this studio in Amsterdam.

Kadmium's exhibition space is located on the top floor of the Prinsenkwartier in Delft.

Opening: Sunday, October 6, 3 p.m.

Period: October 3 to November 10.

Address: Prinsenkwartier, Sint Agathaplein 4, 2611 HR Delft
